Rain Proof

I asked owl, “Do I look silly in this?” I received no reply.

I’m ready for you Spring 2020. I may not look fashionable especially with the helmet cover, but no matter, I got my man and he looks just as dorky as I.

Having spent 10 years living in Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island I remember what wet is. It rained more than I care to remember and when we moved to the sunny Okanagan I couldn’t believe you could wake up to day after day of blue sky and sunshine. One thing about all that rain in Port Hardy though, it made for the prettiest greenery around.

We will cross our fingers and hope for a gloriously dry spring next year but either way we are ready and perhaps we will start some new fashion trends to boot.

I had mentioned in a previous post that we’ve had a change of plans in destination. Originally this first cycle tour was going to be a cross Canada trip which we still plan to do one year soon. But we wanted to start with a country that possessed top notch cycling infrastructure and flat topography to make our maiden tour easier.

So we have decided to start in France following the Eurovelo 6 route along the Loire and then the Danube as far as Passau Germany at which point we will be heading south to Italy and mountains! By then we hope to be in better shape or train it is. Then back north to Basel and following the Rhine to Amsterdam and the North Sea before heading over to the UK. All subject to change of course.
